When you want to be when you grow up? To me, the thought of one day becoming a writer was as awe-inspiring, magical, fantastical, mysterious, and almost impossible as to other kids was the thought of becoming an astronaut.
I’ve worked as a tree planter in the forest fields of Norway for a week. This short yet exhausting venture taught me a handful of precious life lessons that I want to share with you.
But food itself can never be a source or a substitute for love, care, or kindness. Love, care, and kindness come from the heart through the hands of a cook and the meal is their love letter to themselves and to the ones they cook for. Food works as a symbol, a grand gesture.

So here’s a toast – I raise a glass of my fragrant mulled wine – to Christmas, the ones with less cynicism, less mindless obedience, less watching TV, and more of being silly and jolly with your mates.
It may certainly sound naïve, but there is a positive side of smoking. And that’s why smoking is deadly – it’s much too hard to give up all it symbolizes and entails on cultural, social, and personal perspectives.
